the long shadow on a red brick storefront,

the blue sky behind a white turret roof,

the fleeting moments when the light hits here

and a person stands there and an entire story unfolds...

We see them all in the iconic paintings of Edward Hopper

and you see it in person, as Hopper did, in Nyack today.

From May 21-July 17, 2011

the exhibit EDWARD HOPPER, PRELUDE: THE NYACK YEARS

will bring Hopper’s work back to the place

that helped shaped his vision.

To honor this historic occasion

the HOPPER HAPPENS Festival

will turn the streets of his childhood home into

a multi-media celebration of his lasting influence.
